A major partnership between Sydney V8 Supercar Team, Speed FX Racing and the Ford motor company is set to complete the transitional path to V8 Supercar competition for some of Australia’s brightest young motorsport talent.

Under the banner of Ford Rising Stars Racing the program involves running a single car in the 2008 V8 Supercar Championship Series.

The TEX Onsite sponsored NZ V8 will be running at the meeting in Hamilton with the support of the Ford V8 Supercar team.

TEX Onsite is the major sponsor of Richards Team Motorsport, car 40 in New Zealand's premier Motorsport class, the NZV8's. We are proud to have the youngest competitor in the NZV8s, Michael Bristow, starting his first class driving career with our team.

When the team is not racing, the car is involved in various fundraisers for child cancer charities. TEX Onsite is also working with the Cystic Fibrosis Association of New Zealand to plan a major fundraising dinner and auction with the majority of NZV8 teams pledging to become involved.

Next season Sam will race in the Toyota Racing Series aiming to win the championship, with his ultimate ambition in motor racing being to race in the Aus V8 Supercar championship.

Sam is currently living in Palmerston North and completing a Certiuficate in Business Studies at Massey University.

Seven years ago a group of people from a range of different companies pooled their resources and expertise to resurrect the National Line Mechanic Competition.

While the ESITO Line Mechanic Competition has become a flagship event, the Annual Connection is evolving into an event that brings together people with varying levels of responsibility from different trade disciplines and sectors in the electricity supply industry.

In addition to searching for New Zealand’s top line mechanic team, this year’s Annual Connection will:

- Test the talents of our country’s cable jointers
- Showcase the latest tools, equipment and materials from the industry’s suppliers
- Tackle two of the big issues many companies are grappling with – how to get the best out of trainees and retain them, and the skills needed to meet the growing renewable energies market
- Recognise and reward the industry’s most outstanding trainees, and the people who encourage and support them.

The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer based emergency service, servicing the State of Victoria.

VICSES has a wide range of roles including planning for and responding to floods, severe storms, earthquakes, road accident rescue as well as search and rescue. VICSES also provides a support role to other emergency service agencies including the Victoria Police. More than 5,500 volunteers provide this response across the state.

VICSES also has a major planning role providing support and guidance to Government departments and municipalities, as well as providing an audit role on all municipal emergency plans.
